ORIGINAL WATER COLOR BY BENJAMIN KIMBERLY PRINTS, FAMOUS MAGAZINE ILLUSTRATOR: Watercolor has scene of two sulkies racing, with lightning in the stormy night sky. 17x30 canvas size, 36x24 frame size. Benjamin Prins (1902-1980) did (33) cover & inside illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post! He also did covers for McCall’s, Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, & Reader’s Digest magazines as well. His covers for the Saturday Evening Post showed an innocent America, often on the cusp of peril. In opposition to Norman Rockwell’s ideal America, Prins tended to focus on catastrophes: troubles, storms, awkward run-ins, problems, & dilemmas facing Americans of the day.
